Self-initiated project

For my self-initiated project I decided to design costumes for one of my favourite ballets, Swan Lake. I completed primary research on surfaces and textures, which led to secondary research on Matthew Bourne's interpretation of Swan lake and research into costume designers and fashion illustration.
I thoroughly enjoyed this project and hopefully will go down the fashion, costume and textiles pathway for the next stage of my art and design foundation diploma.
Here is an example of some of the project work.

Knitting!

I've recently just learnt to knit and find it very addictive! So proud of myself when I made a blanket!

Surface and Texture 2

November 2011
Using your drawing exploration, you will now be required to produce a series of designs for a specific client. This will lead to making a 3D wearable piece for your client.

I used my drawing exploration to design a repeat print and experiemented with fashion illustration. My given client was Karen Elson so I used her musical background to design costume wear for her music video, 'The ghost who walks'. I look at transparent and cold materials whilst keeping to her very beautiful and elegant look.
