Colour

October 2011
Taking an object and a colour and use photography to express a mood of your choice. A series of 3 photographs must be completed.
I decided to use a kitchen knife and create a tranquil mood through photography using the colour yellow. I felt the contrast between quite a distressful object and a peaceful mood would be challenging but would prove that colour can effect the mood of anything.

Life Drawing

September 2011
I had two weeks of life drawing at the beginning of my foundation diploma in art and design. I found this so challenging seeing as I'd never done anything like this before but so rewarding when some of my drawings actually looked like something!

The Box Project

September 2011
Having developed a series of drawings in the initial sessions you will have the remainder of the week to come up with an idea and make a piece of work which uses ‘the box’ as a starting point. These should explore the box as material or object

and as a ‘concept’, that is how associations make us think about the box in different ways.
I decided to use the idea of surrealism to portray the box. Use photography to make something surreal look very realistic and believeable. The correct reaction on the viewers face is, for me, the most satisfying part of the process of a project.
From these images: the look of confusion crossed with amazement. I like the idea of using art and design to make the impossible possible.
